Battlestar Galactica (the new series) is undoubtedly my favorite series on television these days, taking a prominent place in my TiVo Season Pass Manager. It is a heck of a lot grittier than the 70s series and has compelling characters.
The Cylons have become organic and more than that - sexy! What is most intriguing about them, though, is their religion.
While the humans in the series worship the "Lords of Kobal," a pantheon that largely reflects the Greco-Roman one, the Cylons appear to be monotheists. No one really knows yet what the cylon endgame is, but they believe it is the will of God that they are fulfilling.
There is an article on religion in BSG on beliefnet here.
I'm interested to see how this pans out.
